David Lacey

David Lacey is a leading Researcher, Consultant in Cybersecurity and IT Governance, with more than 30 years’ experience leading Cybersecurity and IT Governance functions for organizations such as the Royal Dutch/Shell Group, Royal Mail Group and the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office. His early career was as an Application Programmer and a Senior Business Analyst, responsible for designing large, secure Government systems.

David has developed and pioneered many new ideas in Cybersecurity. Amongst other things, he drafted the original text behind the ISO/IEC 27000 family of standards, and achieved the World’s first and largest Accredited Security Certifications. David also founded the Jericho Forum which invented and pioneered Zero Trust security principles. And he currently chairs the LinkedIn Zero Trust Special Interest Group Advisory Board.

David has delivered numerous Keynote addresses. Speeches and University Lectures across the World. He has written five books on Cybersecurity and numerous White Papers for Vendors and Research Institutes. He has won several awards, including an award from the Open Group for Outstanding Contributions to Information Security. He is also a long-standing member of the Infosecurity Europe Hall of Fame.

David is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information Security, a Fellow of the British Computer Society and a Chartered Information Technology Professional

 

Sam Matsumoto

Sam Matsumotois is a former CEO and is currently a Business Development executive working with Telecommunications Infrastructure and Service Companies seeking international partners and an expanded global presence. Successes include: Nintendo, EPSON, NEC, DoCoMo, Itochu, Nortel, Transmeta, Clarify, Cadence, National Semiconductor, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab and DEC.

In 2017 Sam received the highly honoured appointment by the Japan Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) as their Director of Automated Demand Response (ADR) Association, who are pursuing a Technology Strategy to support the integration of renewable energy as a part of Japan’s Smart Community Alliance, funded by METI. The objective is to shed and shift peak loads of electricity, as well as stabilizing the power grid by applying two-way communication for remote sensing and control of electric loads.

Sam is a special named Consultant to the Board of HRI, an institute funded by the Japanese Telecom Industry, where he helps research topics in order to help architect strategic technology directions for the Japanese industry. These include Demand Response and Ancillary Services, SmartGrid initiatives and trends, Global M2M platforms and market trends, HTML5/WebRTC, Social Networking Services, and Cloud Computing.

Previously as founder and CEO of Skipper Wireless, Sam created strategic relationships for the Company’s unique, self-installing, mesh wireless system subsequently deployed by NATO and the French Army in Africa and the Middle East.

Sam also led Viaci, a firm helping US businesses and entrepreneurs with emerging technology to develop Go-to-market plans with Japanese partners, and to help Japanese technology companies gain presence in Europe and Africa.

 Jan Long

Jan Long has over 30 years experience in Telecommunications, the last 20 dedicated to the Mobile Wireless Industry. Among his achievements, he is co-inventor of Cisco GoIP and Skipper TRU-MESH patented Wireless Technologies. An IEEE contributor including 17 published patents, he has also co-founded and raised funding from investors for multiple silicon valley start-ups.

Jan is a Partner at FrogBeam, a Technology House which has filed a range of patents for IoT Security, including Machine Learning. Prior projects include Prôches Wireless, a Japan-European global partnership for the health industry, and a Consultancy assignment to the Algerian government to help implement North Africa’s first 4G program. Jan was also contracted to evaluate and recommend systems and technology for Toshiba’s TEPCO 27 million Smartgrid program. Currently, he serves as consultant to XrossFire UK, IotaBeam US, and OmegaBeam Japan.

Previously Jan was COO US Division Skipper Wireless, successfully leading the development of the Industry’s first OFDM mesh ASIC (TRU-MESH) prototype, which was employed by NATO in several conflict zones. Earlier as President/COO of KatanaMe, Jan successfully secured investment from Nintendo to develop a transformative Mobile Gaming hardware while also forging new ground on a Virtual Reality UI (MeWorld and MiSpot) focused on social interactions.

From 1998 until 2002 Jan was the Director of Mobile Wireless Networking at Cisco Systems where he was responsible for managing Cisco’s Mobile Wireless program which won bids over Alcatel, Motorola, Ericsson and Nortel in Europe, Australia, and Asia. Prior to joining Cisco Jan was a Co-founder and Sales/Marketing VP at JetCell, which was acquired by Cisco for its revolutionary GSM+IP system. While there Telia, One-2-One, Airtouch, FIDO, and Optus Australia GSM operators adopted JetCell’s system as a pre-cursor to 4G. Jan subsequently led JetCell’s successful $200m acquisition by Cisco.

Rohit Prabhakar

Rohit Prabhakar has been working in the Mobile Telephony and Defence Avionics industries for more than 30 years, of which the last 20 have been in the Mobile phone industry. During this time Rohit performed a number of Senior Consultancy and Project Management roles with Vendors and Operators across Europe and the UK.

Rohit’s early background was in Design and Development of microprocessor-based Digital Signal processing systems for Airborne Early Warning Radar Systems. He later moved to Systems Design Engineering where he delivered and supported bids for Technical systems solutions.

Rohit has broad and deep experience n the field of Wireless technologies, including GSM, GPRS and UMTS. He also has expertise in Radio, Access Transmission, BSCs, Switching and IP networksas well as  experience of Network Operations, Service Management, Performance Managementand and Operational Strategy.

Rohit has a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Salford University

 

Mike Cawley

Mike Cawley has more than 30 years experience developing personal relationships with many of EMEA’s leading Technology Companies, Operators, and Governments. In particular he has helped innovate and implement leading-edge Telecommunications for Global networking companies.

As Co-Founder and CEO of Total Optical Networks (TON) AG, a Swiss broadband carrier, Mike led the formation and launch of their services to Fortune 500 multinationals demanding 24×7 availability. TON continues to dominate the lucrative Swiss market through its popular Six Sigma Service Reliability.

Mike has led successful sales bids in the complex markets of Algeria and South Africa He has also formed partnerships with EMEA CTOs and Marketing teams from Telcos to identify strategic technologies to fuel future growth and reduce subscriber churn.

Mike has held VP positions at Worldview Technology Partners (a Silicon Valley VC), Orascom Technologies, Network Equipment Technologies, Timeplex, MAKE Systems and Rockwell Networks. Currently residing in UK, Mike has also led assignments in Singapore, Hong Kong, US, and Australia.

Mike is a Technical Member of the Institute for Engineering and Technology and a Committee Member of the Communications Management Association (CMA)
